My name is Frederik Trovatten and I’m a 24-year-old online marketing specialist based in Copenhagen, Denmark.

I worked as an Online Marketing Consultant at Saxo Bank. I was responsible for the Search Marketing in Scandinavia (Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Finland), Latin-Amerika and part of Eastern Europe countries.
2010; Head of PPC, SEO and Web Analytics at gowebTrade
At gowebTrade was a responsible for the Online Marketing operation in Poland and Ukraine.
2008-2009: PPC and SEO manager at IIHNordic.com
I worked at IIHNordic which is a online marketing agency, specialized in Search Marketing and Web Strategy. My job was to help clients with Google Adwords and Search Engine Optimization.
2008-Now: Online Marketing Manager
Netspiren.dk was where my interest in Online Marketing begun. I am still helping out with Pay Per Click Marketing, SEO and Web Analytics. Netspiren is one of the leading health-stores in Denmark.
1989-2007: Full-time Teenager
I knew jack shit about online marketing and websites in 2007. Most of my time was dedicated to friends, school, ice-hockey, parties and my family, like any other guy in his teenage years.

If you’re interested, here’s how it all started
I grew up on the mainland of Denmark in a small city called Esbjerg. The city used to be known for it’s fishing industry, until that part of the city disappeared in the 80’s, and the notoriety moved on to the mediocre hockey team (I played center as a kid).
After graduating from High School in 2008 I moved to Copenhagen, where my brothers lived at the time. I moved to the city without a specific plan about what to do on arrival and I didn’t know if I was going to look for a job, or continue my studies. I guess at the time I just wanted to explore new opportunities, and figure out what to do down the road.
Anyways… I wasn’t really on the look out for any career-opportunities. I was on the look out for anything that could help me pay the rent. Online marketing just happened to be the first thing to pop into my life, and that happened pretty randomly when my brother suggested that I could help add products and other small tasks to the family E-commerce store.
Back then, I had never heard about SEO, Google Adwords or affiliate marketing. I had no idea about the underlying metrics of Google, the sophistication of the Internet and the beauty of online marketing. All that has dawned on me since then, and I continue to be blown away whenever I gaze upon all the cool stuff that happens online. That’s the stuff I will continue to share with you guys here on my blog.
